Renault Premium Route now has new power ratings of 380, 430 and 460 hp producing even more torque. Its new generation driveline helps deliver class-leading fuel efficiency and one of the best payloads on the market.

Renault Premium   Route  is available in a range of configurations, providing a truck that is right for you and your needs:

  • Rigids 4x2 and 6X2 : 13 wheelbases from 3.7 to 6.8m.
  • Tractors 4x2: 3 fifth wheel heights (1,200 / 1,040 / 950 mm); 2 wheelbases (3.7 and 3.9 m) and high volume (3.7 m).
  • Tractor 6x2 Pusher.

BODYBUILDING MADE EASY

Renault Premium Route rigids are designed so bodybuilders can carry out the quality work demanded by customers.

The upper surface of the chassis is smooth and unobstructed to avoid interference between bodywork and truck components. Side members are pre-drilled so the rear cross member can be repositioned to adjust the overhang.

DAY CAB OR SLEEPER CAB

Renault Premium Route has two types of cabs:

  • Day cab (depth 1.6 m) for daytime journeys.
  • Sleeper cab (depth 2.2 m) available in 2 versions: normal roof and high roof.

Sleeper cabs offer the space and comfort needed to live and sleep onboard the vehicle. The high roof version is available in three different trim levels: Alliance, Privilege and Excellence.

ERGONOMIC DASHBOARD LAYOUT

The functional, wraparound layout of the dashboard places all controls within easy reach of the driver. Storage compartments are easy to access and the driving position is ideal for long journeys.

Renault Premium Route has a digital display with a central rev counter to give the driver a perfect view of every vital piece of information : speed, brake tank pressure, engine speed, water temperature and fuel levels. Available in Basic and Comfort versions, it gives access to the different menus and warning messages and to information on the new fifth wheel locking function and on AdBlue levels.

CLEAR VIEW OF THE ROAD AHEAD

 Renault Premium Route features a generously dimensioned, unobstructed windshield, and low cut side windows to give the driver a panoramic view of the road and better side visibility at all times. This offers a level of comfort and safety that is just as critical in urban traffic as it is for long haul applications. Two independent, anti-vibration rearview mirrors, a conventional main mirror and a wide angle mirror, are mounted on both driver and passenger sides to give the driver an optimal field of vision to the rear of the vehicle. A forward facing mirror completes the high level of visibility towards the front of the vehicle.

 

A NEW NOTION OF SPACE

 The Renault Premium Route cab features a range of interior components to give both the driver and passenger a high level of comfort and greater freedom of movement:

  • Easy movement within the cab with the repositioning of the gear lever in Optidriver+* versions.
  • Suspended seats or high comfort seats (heated, lumbar support), leather seats optional.
  • Storage compartment on the dashboard cooled by the air conditioning, (capacity 9.4 litres).
  • Storage area or refrigerator under the bunk.
  • Cup holders and removable ash tray.
  • Comfortable, spacious bunk.
  • Television tray standard on passenger side (on raised roof version).
  • 5-CD changer and 12 and 24 volt sockets for portable equipment (depending on version).

 

OPTIDRIVER+* AUTOMATED GEARBOX: COMFORT AT A GLANCE AND AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

The electronically controlled clutch makes the road easy and pleasurable to drive. The steering wheel mounted cluster switch and the dashboard display of the gear engaged and the operating mode, further enhance overall driving comfort. The driver completes his tasks effortlessly and is able to give his full attention to the road.

Renault Premium Route features a new interior trim design. Warm, vibrant shades, dirt-resistant materials and colours make for a more pleasurable in cab experience.

CABS

2 cab versions : Day and Sleeper.

Normal and high roof.

Three trim levels on offer:

  • Alliance: the entry level, with standard equipment - normal roof, opening side deflectors, pre-equipment for sun visor, remote door locking, wrap around bumper and stepwell coloured to match the cab, electric roof vent, cab-contour and separation curtain, manual air-conditioning, mono CD radio, 12V socket, television tray with 24V socket, parking brake buzzer.
  • Privilege: includes, in addition to the features of the Alliance package - bunk storage drawer,  raised roof with storage, adjustable deflector, sun visor, remote door locking and main cut-off switch, captain’s seat for driver, telephone pre-equipment, stand-alone heater, radio remote control.
  • Excellence: includes, in addition to the features of the Privilege package - deluxe steering wheel, side fairings, MP3 radio and Bluetooth, refrigerator, xenon headlights, headlight washer, two-tone deluxe sun visor.

DXi11 Engine
10.8 litre, high-pressure injector pump electronic injection engine.
Power ratings meeting Euro 5 and EEV standards: 380, 430 or 460 hp.
Rear-mounted timing gear.
Turbo charger with ‘wastegate’ for 430 and 460 hp power ratings.


380 DXi
Power rating: 280 kW at 1,800 rpm.
Torque: 1,800 Nm from 950 to 1,400 rpm.

430 DXi
Power rating: 316 kW at 1,800 rpm.
Torque: 2,040 Nm from 950 to 1,400 rpm.


460 DXi
Power rating: 338 kW at 1,800 rpm.
Torque: 2 200 Nm from 950 to 1,400 rpm.

Renault Trucks has opted for the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) after treatment system to meet the Euro 5 standard. The system consists of a number of elements:

  • AdBlue tank.
  • AdBlue dosage module.
  • Catalyser into which the AdBlue is sprayed and which converts NOx into nitrogen and watersensors to ensure that the entire system is functioning properly (NOx sensor, AdBlue level, high temperature reading).

Automatic Engine Stop: this system automatically shuts down the vehicle’s engine when it has been idle for more than five minutes, the parking brake is engaged, no power take-off devices are engaged and the engine is hot.
A pictogram on the display screen alerts the driver before the engine is shut down.

GEARBOXES

Seven gearboxes are available: 4 manual gearboxes and 3 automated gearboxes.
Manual gearbox with Super H pattern control: speeds 5 to 8 superposed onto speeds 1 to 4.
To move from one speed range to the other, simply press the button atop the gear lever.

The Servoshift takes up 75% of the effort.
These 8 speeds are split into 16 half speeds. A solenoid valve protects the system against gearshifting errors.
The Driving Monitoring System gives a continuous, real-time display of the gear engaged as well as of the optimal gear.
Optidriver+ automated gearbox (12 speeds) with steering column mounted control.

DRIVE AXLES

P 13170/2 single-reduction drive axle.

P 1361.7 double-reduction drive axle.
Available for severe applications.

CHASSIS

Broad range of wheelbases, side member thickness reduced to maximise payload capability or reinforced to handle severe applications.

Tractors:

  • 4 fifth wheel heights to provide excellent adaptability to batch transport: 1,250 / 1,040 / 950 mm.

Rigids:

  • 13 wheelbases: from 3.7 m to 6.8 m offering very good adaptability.
  • Possibility for factory built, under-slung crossmember, for central axle trailers used for high volume applications with chassis heights of 850 mm.

BRAKES

APM (Air Product Management), electronic air system management.

Front and rear disc brakes throughout the range, giving the best brakes on the market, unrivalled maintenance and brake pad life of up to 350,000 km.

EBS (Electronic Braking System), electronically controlled air brake system that adjusts the brake pressure applied to each wheel to match road adherence conditions.

EBS+ :ABS, emergency braking assistance, ASR, engine brake management, hill start management, differential lock control, brake pad wear balancing system, brake failure warning message. Even braking, traction test.

Full EBS : EBS+ functions and ESP (stability control and anti-rollover control).

Optibrake (optional), combines exhaust braking integrated with the engine brake.

INTARDER

  • Intarder(optional) for manual gearbox, hydraulic retarder fully integrated into the gearbox.
  • VOITH(optional) for automated gearbox.

Coupling of the different braking systems : service brakes, engine brake, retarders.
The retarders may be coupled to the brake pedal.

SUSPENSIONS

Front mechanical suspensions
2 configurations:

  • Suspension for front load of 7.1t.
  • Suspension for front load of 8t.


The front air suspensions(optional) help maintain ride height and constant vehicle attitude.
2 configurations are offered:

  • Standard suspension.
  • Lowered suspension (high volume).

Front stabiliser bar as standard.

Rear air suspensions with height sensor control to ensure constant rolling height.
Integral, or lowered integral air suspension for high volume transport.
Rear stabiliser bar (optional).
ECS(Electronic Control Suspension) manages and controlsvehicle height and manages the third axle functions.

With Optifuel Solutions, Renault Trucks offers the most effective services and technologies to reduce fuel consumption : optimised drivelines, Optidriver+ automated gearbox, SCR solution, economic driver training with the Optifuel Training Programme and Optifuel Infomax.

NEW ENGINES: FUEL EFFICIENT AND MORE POWERFUL

Renault Premium Route now has the latest DXi11 Euro 5 engines with power ratings of 380, 430 and 460 hp. These engines have been designed to provide optimal fuel efficiency, combined with excellent acceleration, torque and driving pleasure. For even greater fuel efficiency, Renault Premium Route can be fitted with the optional engine stop function. This feature automatically shuts down the engine when it has been idle for more than five minutes if the parking brake is engaged, no power take-off units are activated and the engine is at normal operating temperature.

OPTIDRIVER+ GEARBOX** MAKING DRIVING EASIER AND MORE ECONOMICAL

 The Optidriver+** automated gearbox, with its new management software, guides the Renault Premium Route in optimal conditions of comfort and helps you take control of your fuel budget. The appropriate gear is automatically selected in relation to engine speed, eliminating gear change errors and any risk of under or over speeding.
With less moving mechanical parts, maintenance is greatly reduced and the clutch delivers longer service life.

RENAULT TRUCKS USING SCR TECHNOLOGY

SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) is an exhaust gas after treatment process that employs an aqueous urea solution called AdBlue. The technology helps reduce pollutant emissions, requires little servicing, has no impact on service intervals and is not affected by the quality of the fuel used. SCR technology also helps reduce fuel consumption when used with Renault Trucks DXi engines.

In order to meet the EEV standard (Enhanced Environmentally-friendly Vehicle), Renault Trucks has developed a solution without particulate filter***, that is easy to use and affordable to service.

UNMATCHED ROAD HOLDING

A wide chassis and air suspension give unsurpassed stability and exemplary road holding to the Renault Premium Route.     The air suspended cab affords both safety and comfort.

HIGH PERFORMANCE BRAKES

Renault Premium Route  is equipped with the latest generation of electronically controlled EBS (Electronic Braking System). It makes hill starts easier but it can also check the brake system as well as the temperature of the brake discs at any time.


ESP (Electronic Stability Program) comes into play the moment the truck loses grip with the road surface and takes control of each wheel individually in order to stabilise the vehicle. The power transferred to the driving wheel is reduced so as to minimise the risks of skidding off the road, especially on wet surfaces or on corners.
The Optibrake engine brake delivers a retardation power of 303 kW at 2,300 rpm, making it one of the most powerful and reliable in its class.
Renault Premium Route gives you one of the best braking systems on the market.

 

ANTI-COLLISION AND DRIVING AID SYSTEM*

 Renault Premium Route  boasts a very sophisticated driving aid system* that is adapted to all types of transport, and in particular hazardous materials transport. It has the ability to detect whether the vehicle has suddenly changed lanes, crossed a white line or is running too close to the vehicle ahead. In these instances, the system triggers a visual or audible alert in the cab.
